SPLASH -2021 CANCELLED

We - the Committee - have made the decision to cancel Splash 2021. We are sad that our wonderful show of best watercolours will not happen this year.

The principal reason is our people. We need to give members safety and certainty. Even if we pushed the exhibition back to November the possibility of last minute changes would hang in the air and all our valued volunteer workers could be in a 'danger zone'.

At present, members are considering framing and couriers. Framing shops and art shops are closed across the country and will be so in Auckland for about two more weeks. Framing materials have been on low supply for some months. Members will be already tussling with what to do.

Financially, Splash usually breaks even - approximately. So, money is not a reason to run the exhibition when times are tough.

We know that an early decision will set all minds at rest and we can go paint. In 2022 we will run an excellent Splash exhibition with Brian Baxter as Guest Artist.
