Pamela Lines

Pamela is a Waihi Beach based watercolour artist. Her working mantra is Feel the essence. Keep it simple. Through her work she endeavours to connect with the viewer, to give a sense of place on an emotional level, through the simplicity of the image and the versatility of watercolour. Pamela has a Diploma of Art and Creativity (Hons) through The Learning Connexion, Wellington.

Pam Lines is an active member of Watercolour New Zealand, Tauranga Society of Artists, Waihi Plein Air Artists and Tauranga Urban Sketchers.

Dennis Greenwood

Dennis is a full-time painter and freelance designer based on the outskirts of Levin. After graduating in graphic design/illustration with a BCGD (Hons) and qualifying as a teacher, he taught visual arts at both tertiary and secondary levels before taking up painting and design full-time.

He paints mainly in watercolours, and his main subjects are the features and the moods of the environment. A passion for the outdoors results in his subject matter naturally inclining toward landscapes & seascapes. Watercolours, despite the difficulties in producing works of a high and consistent standard, possess a graphic potential and apparent luminescence which appeals to Dennis.

I ask myself all the time why I paintwhy create when you can just go around looking at things or photographing things? For me there are two answers. The first is that I prefer to look at paintings. The second is that I enjoy making paintings. He likes to paint large to give the viewer a sense of being surrounded by the scene. He uses Arches or Saunders-Waterford papers and M Graham & Co paints for their quality.

Dennis Greenwood's works have often merited the important Peoples Choice Award at exhibitions and in 2012 he won the Watercopour New Zealand Supreme Award.
