Bernadettes passion is watercolour: its transparency, freedom, magic and a little luck create a
wonderful challenge.
Bernadette Parsons is one of New Zealands foremost watercolourists, she has been painting for 20
years. Her work has sold widely and been published in painting books.
Among her many wins and awards, she took home first prize in open watercolour 4 years in a row
at the Royal Easter Show and numerous firsts elsewhere, including the Franklin Arts Festival and
the Taranaki Festival of Art.

"Watercolour is the most expressive and exciting mediums and I have been enjoying its challenges and
complexities for about twenty years.
I love to make exciting paintings from our wonderful diverse landscape. I exhibit throughout New
Zealand and overseas and have been very successful in winning many awards. I'm also being included
in the book New Zealand in Watercolour. Encouraging other artists through demonstrations and
workshops and feeling their enthusiasm is what I enjoy."
